Ava Elaine Oakes update!

I'm bacccckkkkk!!!!

It has been so long! I finally figured out to post from my phone! Everyone is doing great in our house! Ava is 14 months old and is running around like crazy! We can barely keep up with her. I know most of my friends keep up with me on Facebook but I've lost touch with my blogger friends! Well here are some pictures of baby girl from month and as past and the big news....I've finally started digging into my creative side a little more....well a lot! I've always wanted to learn how to sew so I could start a little business of monogramming and appliques for children's clothing. I start taking my first class this coming Wednesday at Smockingbird in Homewood. Too excited! Over the past couple of weeks I've posted on Facebook a few crafts I've made and I actually have ended up selling a few! Slowing but surely I hope to get a little business going for myself but for now its Facebook sales and now I hope the blogging world! I'm going to post pictures of the different items I have for sale so if you are interested in any of them please let me know and I'll be more than happy to make one for you!

Whoa!!!! It's been a while

I just got back on my blog from being away from it for awhile and didn't realize that it had been since April that I've updated our blog! Ava doesn't even look the same anymore. I must get better about posting pictures of our sweet baby. For now at least here are a few new pictures of our 5 1/2 month old baby.....and side note....She started Brookwood Baptist today. No more Nana Daycare, it's big girl school for now. It was so weird leaving her with two women I had only met once and telling myself she would be okay....she is just a baby. Allen and I both took her for I think support for one another this morning but Daddy is picking her up early today because he can't stand it and wants her home!

Happy 4 months to my sweet Ava baby!

Ava is 4 months old today! Daddy took her to her 4 month check up yesterday and all went well except for her gagging on her oral vaccine and throwing up all of the nurse and Allen! If she is full and is at the least bit gagged she will throw up all over you in a heartbeat! But other than that Allen said it was pretty uneventful. She weighs 13.8 lbs and is 24 inches long and her head circumference is 161/4. All of which is in the 50 percentile for babies her age. Looks like she has caught up! We are very excited that we can start trying rice cereal here shortly. Hopefully maybe this will be the straw that's gets her to sleep through the night. She is still waking up at 3:00 - 4:00 every morning to eat. But I really must say that is if at all my only complaint....she really is such a sweet baby that smiles ALL the TIME! She is starting to grab things and can stand up (with help of course) and hold her head up so well and is very strong. Here are some pictures my mom has taken of Ava during the day at Nana's Daycare, Easter pics and random pictures from the last month. Hope everyone is doing well!

Sweet Girl is Two Month's old!

Ava had her two month check up last Thursday. She weighed in at 9lbs 10ozs. I thought she would be bigger than that for some reason but the doctor said that she was most certainly healthy. She took her shots like a tough girl and only cried for a split second. The Tylenol they gave me to give her worked like a miracle. So, I made it back to work last week only working half days until the end of this week. Surprisingly, that has helped out so much with me getting accustomed to coming back to work. Mom has been watching Ava and Livvie...please pray for her! :) Livvie is just so sweet with Ava. She holds her hand, pets her head and says, "Pretty hair". Too cute!

This past weekend Allen's mom came and spent the night with us. We always have such a good time together and she so adores Ava! I am just hoping she didn't catch whatever Allen, Ava and I have come down with! We are all sick!!! But we did get news yesterday that made us feel 100% better....AVA got into a EARLY LEARNING CENTER PROGRAM!!! She will begin going to Brookwood Baptist Church in Mountain Brook everyday beginning June 7th. We had to move mountains to get her into a program! Note to self....life lesson...enroll your child in a daycare program when you find out your pregnant please don't wait like I did. I'm sure most of you already now this! But anyway we are thrilled this is a GREAT program with an awesome atmosphere and teaching staff. ANDDDDDD its only minutes from our house! Here are some recent pictures of Miss Ava Elaine...

She just did a fabulous job and I can not wait to have some framed for our house. The website is www.johannacosbyphotography.com. I would highly recommend using her if anyone needs any family pictures taken. Once you are there click on clientproofing/ordering and then type in the password Ava to see her pictures. Here's a sneak peak...Oh and by the way..Ava is a month old as of yesterday!!! Can you believe it??? Time has flown by!

Welcome World....Miss Ava Elaine Oakes!

Ava Elaine Oakes arrived on Monday, December 21, 2009 just in time for Christmas! We arrived at the hospital at 6:30am to get ready for my induction. Once checking in and getting settled into my labor and delivery room the induction began around 8:00am. After getting my epidural around 9:30 I progressed very quickly to 10 centimeters at 11:30. Started pushing and did not stop for THREE HOURS! Those were the most exhausting three hours of my life! The definitely do not call it labor for nothing! Dr. Tammuci came in and checked on me around 2:00pm and decided it was time to have Miss Ava with the help of forceps. She had not progressed far enougg and just did not want to pass under my pelvic bone. At 2:15pm I had the most precious angel wrapped in my arms. She weighed 6lbs 1oz and was 19 inches long. She is just perfect!!!

I hope most of you got the slide show I sent out to all my friends that I have email addresses. If I didn't send it to you and you would like to see it, send me your address and I'll forward it to you. Just in case here are some of the pictures from one of the most spectacular days of our lives! I've also attached a picture of Olivia when she was born so you can see how crazy Ava and Olivia resemble each other when they were both born. The very last picture is a picture of Olivia when she was only a couple days old....RIDIC how much they look alike!!! Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!
